DEFINITION

Gin Rummy is an ageless game of cards that requires skill and strategy. Organize your hand into sets (groups of cards with the same rank) and runs (consecutive cards of the same suit), while minimizing the presence of "deadwood" - cards that do not fit into any sets or runs. The game concludes when a player reaches a predetermined score of 100 points, turning it into a competitive race to outsmart your opponent and emerge victorious.


GUIDELINES

  1. Objective: Reduce the amount of "deadwood" in your hand by creating sets and runs.
  • Sets: Collections of cards with identical rank (for instance, three 7s).
  • Runs: Sequences of cards within the same suit (for example, 4, 5, 6 of Hearts).
  1. Scoring:
  • Add up the deadwood points from your opponent's remaining cards and incorporate them into your score.
  • Optimize your points by knocking or achieving a "go gin" (having no deadwood).
  1. Winning:
  • The first player to reach or surpass 100 points emerges as the winner of the game.
  • Be cautious and prevent your opponent from reaching 100 points before you do!
